Homemade Dog Treats (only 3 ingredients!)

Make your 4-legged friend’s day with these simple, delicious homemade dog treats. Kids will enjoy helping mix up the dough and feeding the dogs the final product!

Step 1: Gather your ingredients. You will need:

  • 1 large ripe banana (or 2 medium ripe bananas)
  • 1.5 cups of oats or oat flour (if you don’t have oat flour, you can blend the oats to make your own oat flour)
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • a cookie cutter (we used a dog bone cookie cutter, but you can use anything, if you don’t have a cookie cutter, you can use the top of a cup)

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe banana with a fork
  2. Mix in the 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  3. Mix in the 1.5 cups of oat flour
  4. Mix all the ingredients together until you have the consistency of dough. (Ours was a little sticky, so we ended up adding more oat flour).
  5. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool completely before feeding to your dog!

First, you will want to mash your ripe bananas (we pulled our ripe bananas out of the freezer, so we had to let them thaw first before mashing. Toss in the peanut butter and flour and mix it all together.

Once your mixture is a dough-like consistency, you can lay out parchment paper on the counter, sprinkle with flour and begin to roll out your dough to approximately 1/2 inch to 1 inch thick depending on how large you want your treats.

We used a glass cutting board to minimize the mess.

Next, we lined a baking sheet with a silicon baking mat (you can also use parchment paper). We gently moved the dough over to the cookie sheet.

Next, you’re going to pop this into the preheated oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool. Enjoy!!!!!
